Sega Announce New Console

Sega have announced that they are to release a motion controlled console named Sega Zone. In essence the console is a Wii emulator that will come loaded with 20 classic Sega titles including Alex Kidd, Sonic and Knuckles, Ecco The Dolphin and Golden Axe. It will also feature a further 30 titles, 16 of which will be motion controlled dragging the total up to an impressive 50.

The console will come packaged with two wireless motion controllers and when not indulging in some retro Sega action, you will be able to participate in the range of sports that Nintendo's trend setting console made famous. These include table tennis, golf, darts and volleyball, which will all be controlled with your physical movements in front of the screen.

Unfortunately, much like the hand-held Mega Drive console that was released last year, the games you get on purchase are the ones you're stuck with forever. No new titles will be able to be added, even with Sega's promise of new titles in the future. We can only assume that this leaves the door open for updated versions of the console further down the line. Sega Zone is set for a release in April and is expected to cost around £50.
