After last month's news that the servers for original Xbox titles will be closing, thus making their online capabilities obsolete, Microsoft have decided to up the spirits of the fan base that felt let down. The culmination of Halo 2's online multiplayer mode was the biggest loss suffered amongst the community so a decision has been made to reward those most "loyal" to the title by allowing them access the the Halo: Reach Beta.
Some of the most committed of players have already been contacted by Microsoft who thanked them for being such "loyal" Xbox Live customers and gifted them 3 months Gold Membership and 400 MSP to splash on whatever they like. Microsoft added in the Beta access, "because you've been so loyal to Halo," they said to those selected.
This will go some way to easing the pain of the server closure for fans that still use them. They will have until April 15th to continue enjoying the service and at least their loyalty and hard work has not gone unnoticed. Something that can not be said for the majority of us!
