It's fair to say that the 80's were an era which had its highs and lows. Culturally apart from shoulder pads, bizarre make-up and hair, electro pop music it really didn't have much to make it stand out for the right reasons, until you flicked on the television and saw great shows like Airwolf and The A-Team, which seems to magically erase all the lousy stuff that decade had to show for itself.
The A-Team of course has survived better than most the test of time and although for being a crack squad of US army men who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn at two paces using an assault rifle, they could always turn the tide against the bad guys who were hurting the good people, using some inventive way of making a scary vehicle capable of demolishing the baddies arsenal in one go.
Well what exactly am I doing talking about this, well, before Mr. T was promoting a certain chocolate bar, he was an icon from the TV show and thankfully, there's a way of turning yourself into him without going all the way by giving yourself a Mohawk haircut and goatee.

You can now take a picture on your iPhone or indeed load an image up of yourself or whoever you wish, on your iPod and let the clever technology behind this app do its thing. What it does, should the image be suitable (e.g. a portrait picture of someone's face without hair or it being at an odd angle), is blend certain features of your face into the face of Mr. T with often hilarious outcomes.
Whether you've got glasses or not, this app seems to detect the mouth and eyes from the picture and blend these fairly seamlessly to give you a scary indication of what you could have looked like had you gone to all the effort of blinging yourself up, working out at the gym profusely and getting said haircut done.
The scary thing is, that I did this to myself and a few others and we all were quite convinced that we may actually do this in real life as we all ended up quite good looking (I think we all appreciated having the tan and the muscles most).
Overall, this app's a silly one, but definitely well worth having if you are looking for something a little quirky and amusing to do with your pictures or those of your friends. The best thing of all is you can email it or plaster it online for all to see via facebook or twitter. Needless to say, it could offer a fair bit of blackmail material and light-hearted teasing between friends and family.
